Sol Bermann is the Chief Information Security Officer at the University of Michigan, partnering across the university working on strategic and operational IT security, privacy, compliance and IT policy matters. Previously, he was Director of International Privacy at Walmart, and prior to that was Chief Privacy Officer for the State of Ohio . He is former Associate Director of the Center for Interdisciplinary Law and Policy Studies at the Ohio State University College of Law, and was adjunct in OSU’s International Studies Program, focusing on privacy, law, and civil liberties. Sol is a frequent presenter on privacy and information security issues, and co-authored “Information Privacy: Official Reference for the Certified Information Privacy Professional.”
